Bill Beckwith, the co-host of HGTV’s home-improvement show "Curb Appeal," is dead at 38 years old after a motorcycle crash.
According to CNN, Beckwith died Monday night after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle in San Francisco.
"The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperative with police investigators," police said in a statement. "[Beckwith] was transported to [San Francisco General Hospital], where he died from injuries sustained in the collision.”
Beckwith co-hosted "Curb Appeal," a show that remodels the exteriors of homes, along with John Gidding, Chip Wade and Kimberly Lacy.
"Bill was truly a beloved and respected member of our 'Curb Appeal' family, and this loss is devastating to us," the show said on its official Facebook page on Tuesday. "We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Bill's family."
On Tuesday night, a Facebook memorial page called Billy J. Beckwith, Superstar was created in his name for family, friends and fans to leave their condolences. Beckwith's girlfriend, Yulia Korneeva, also posted tribute photos of Beckwith, writing: "My love: so kind, so bright, adventurous and strong. You are loved by so many good people! I wish you could stay with us for way longer."
E News! reported that a memorial is being organized by family members and will take place on Sunday.
According to his bio on HGTV, Beckwith, who hailed from a vegetable farm in mid-coastal Maine, “found himself drawn to working on the old structures on the property” and liked “building things in the farm’s workshop.” The handyman studied at the University of Montana before moving to California and starting his own construction company, BB Design Build, in 2001.
