KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 - International film actress Datuk Michelle Yeoh, 49, is among the personalities in the creative arts to receive federal medals and awards during the day so the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah today.
Yeoh, who has acted in several films including "Tomorrow Never Dies", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Lady", received degrees Chief Setia Mahkota (PSM) which carries the title "Tan Sri".
Famous international shoe designer Datuk Jimmy Choo and New York-based fashion designer Zang Toi received degrees Commander General Services (PJN) which carries the title "Datuk".
Language specialist Prof Dr Awang Sariyan, which also Routledge Director General, also recevies the PJN. - Bernama
